What is porn?

The term of pornography is, according to Wikipedia astonishing old. Our ancestors already practised things like prostitution or documenting sexual practices with mosaics hundreds of years ago.

Although it might be clear for the most visitors, we should define what is actually meant when talking about porn. It is important to have a general classification if we want to stop watching it, otherwise one could say “Its no problem ’cause its no porn.” and would continue with what he or she was doing before.

Let porn be all content which is made to cause sexual arousal of the individual which is consuming it. This includes videos, audio files, pictures and so on. Also porn can be created in your mind, when you are watching man or women in the pool and begin to drift into your own fantasy. If you are married, everything that enters your sexuality from outside of your marriage must not be there. If you have a look at Mathew 5, verse 27, it is said by Jesus:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

It becomes clear that in god’s eyes it is not only our appearence and behaviour which indicates if we are with or against him. He wants us to have a clean heart. A heart without thoughts about commiting adultery with a stranger. Watch your thoughts and feelings when you walk down a street and see a good looking man or women. What do you think? Do you preserve a clean heart? Jesus does not only want to help you with stopping to watch porn. Moreover he wants his followers to have a clean heart.

Why is it that difficult to even preserve physical purity and furthermore mental purity in means of a heart in Jesus name? Let’s find out why.
