Step 4: Your Hope

In a battle it is often confusing and disappointing as matters stand. You might feel desperate even though you tried hard following rules after the holy bible and setting up goals. Winning this battle seems to be impossible.

Great news: You are not alone!

God has said some very important things for the ones who are being tempted.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV

Isn’t this great news? You can be hopeful that there is always a way of escape. You can turn off the router, shut down your computer, leave the room, walk down another road, turn around in the bus or spend your money elsewhere. The key principle is to flee, if you are not able to fight:

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

1 Corinthians 6:18 ESV

God knows how strong the evil can be and how weak humans are, so there is nothing bad about avoiding temptation:

So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

2 Timothy 2:22 ESV

The bible assures you that the lord Jesus is with you and will always provide a way to escape. Will you follow him?
